Bracks Acts Now To Entrench ALP & Green Dominated Councils

Bracks Government has shown it's natural antipathy towards democracy with an attack aimed at entrenching the dominance of the ALP & Greens within local councils. Under new electoral regulations, candidates would not be allowed to include how to vote lists in their candidate statements, nor criticise the performance of the existing council.

Anonymous - The Greens don't dominate Councils in their own right but in concert with the ALP. Their agendas are very similar and so the only areas in which the two groups oppose each other at Council level are issues relating to the degree of their left wing agendas, rather than to do with a real challenge to those agendas.

Take a look at yarra council for an example of an ALP and Green dominated council.
